A Winner!

Love: LOVE oil and vinegar
During my visit home Mare and I headed into the town of Frederick to wonder around the shops, have lunch, and enjoy the day. We stopped at the winery, a local bakery, a chocolate shop, and many small boutiques. Downtown Frederick is a really growing, and it's full of personality, history and charm. I would move back in a heartbeat- although real estate has gone through the roof!
One of the stops Mare insisted we make was the Lebherz Oil and Vinegar Emporium (L.O.V.E. for short- how sweet!!). She explained that in this shop you could not only buy a variety of infused olive oils and vinegars, you could sample them as well. Needless to say, I was more than happy to see this shop for myself.
As soon as I walked in the door I was in love with the design and lay out of the shop. Two full rooms of over 50 beautiful steel carafes, each holding the most delicious, intoxicating oils and vinegars you can imagine. I love the repetition of the mini barrels, the lime green walls which contrasted the wood tabels beautifully.
Each caraf was labeled with the name of the oil/vinegar and a brief description of it's ingredients. There were more flavors then you could imagine; fruits, herb, spices...
You are free to try as many products as you'd like using the fresh bread they provide for dipping. HEAVEN! My mind swirled with the different dishes I could create with each one; dressings, marinades, sauces....
I somehow managed to settle on three products: Tuscan Herb Olive Oil, Oregano white vinegar, and Fresh Peach white vinegar. The shop girls bottle your selections while you wait, which conveniently gives you more time to sample:) That is how I've decided my next additions will be Chipotle Olive oil and also some Cinnamon Pear Balsamic Vinegar:)
Although some of the flavors sounded peculiar, I've found the L.O.V.E. website to be very helpful with paring suggestions as well as recipes. Now the peculiar flavors just sound intriguing :) There is a complete list of all the products they offer- good luck choosing- personally, I'd like one of each!
The shop girls, and owner; Maggie were all super friendly, and I was thrilled to see that so many people had discovered the local shop! I hope that if you're ever in the Frederick area you will stop in- you won't be disappointed. Not only is the product to die for, but the experience itself is fabulous!

Love: Home
Over the weekend I got to escape to my hometown in the Maryland countryside to visit my stepmom, Mare. During the spring and summer months our back patio is a beautiful, relaxing, tranquil oasis. Mare has an amazing green thumb, and a knack for creating a peaceful atmosphere. I could spend hours here lounging with a glass of wine... and I have!
I love the spider-web beams, and the wisteria that adorns it.
I'd just missed the blooming season for many of the deck flowers leaving only lush greenery.
Sheer fabric drapes along the main support beams. Although usually tied back, when the wind catches the drapes is stunning.
A lilly pond amongst the foliage.
The remaining clematis flowers.
This is quite possibly my favorite part of the whole deck. This is the stem of the wisteria that was planted over 2o years ago, and now covers the canopy of the deck. I love the twisted thickness of the stem, and how it has become it's own support beam.
Getting home to relax is a real treat, and I can't think of a more lovely place to do it! Thanks Mare!

Love: Starbucks Give-away
Happy Monday Morning!! The weekend went way too fast, and I'm having a hard time coping with heading back to reality today. I'm hoping for a quick, happy week!

Create: Using vintage treasures
I opened my online shop about a year and half ago when I realized I had to much stuff. I had acquired most of the items I listed in my shop with good intentions of incorporating them into my crafting. But eventually I was overwhelmed with beautiful treasures that were stashed in drawers and boxes never seeing the light of day. I decided it was time to find them new homes, where people could use and appreciate them.
I was so thrilled when Judy from Vintage Reunion contacted me to let me know how she had used a simple embellishment from my shop to make a beautiful necklace. Such creativity in making this piece and seeing beyond the traditional uses for beaded notions! I can imagine it going beautifully with so many outfits! Rumor has it there is a headband in the works with another one of the same embellishments, and I'm hoping I get to see that as well. I'm also loving this necklace I found in Judy's shop.
I'm always so happy to hear about what everyone is making using items they found in my shop, or how they have used an item in their decor. Please don't be shy- let me know! It makes my day, inspires me, and makes parting with them a little easier :)
