Tinsel Trading Company
The one and only stop I knew I had to make in NYC was Tinsel Trading Company. I've been wanting to go the shop for close to a year, and I've mentioned it here a time or two. I arranged to take a few hours off work on Wednesday to go to this amazing shop located in midtown Manhattan, and I wasn't disappointed!
As soon as I walked up to the shop I was greeted by a beautiful window display that included both the old and new products they offer.
As I made my way into the shop I was happy to find that the shop sold both new and old treasures. I knew about all of the fabulous products that were once housed in the basement, but wasn't sure they would be available for viewing or purchase in the shop. Luckily they were, and these boxes full of old metallic threads were the very first thing I noticed.
From there I was in awe of the right wall, which was lined front to back with bobbins full of the most beautiful trims. Again both new and vintage.
Tables, drawers and boxes containing vintage notions were everywhere. It would take several trips back to the shop to really take it all in.
The notions weren't the only vintage things in the shop- most of the displays were old and beautiful too!
New products are also scattered amongst the vintage treasures.
Most of the antique stock was kept behind glass or in showcases in order to preserve the high quality. It didn't stop me from taking photos...
The women at the shop were all so helpful and kind. Not only did they answer all of my questions, but they didn't bat an eyelash as I walked around the shop snapping tons of photographs.
If you ever find yourself in the Big Apple be sure to stop in this wonderful treasure of a store. You will fall in love with it as soon as you step in the door.

Greetings from New York
Greetings from New York!
As I mentioned before, I'm in NYC for work. Specifically that work is exhibiting at wholesale trade show where we are selling our beautiful jewelry line to shops from all over the globe. We are introducing our line to new shops, catching up with old colleagues, and spreading the word about Lotus Jewelry Studio to everyone who stops in our mini-showroom.
Days are long and exhaustive, but I love the energy and inspiration I get from doing a trade show. They always bring me new ideas, make me change the way I look at things, and remind me to dream big!

Hello Again
Hi Friends! I'm back after one crazy week. I've been going non-stop for days, and I leave for NYC tomorrow morning. The packing and planing is done, and I'm ready to relax tonight before catching my 7 am train.
I stopped by the wholesale needle work show my mom and aunt are doing in Baltimore this weekend. They have a suite filled with beautiful needlework patterns and jewelry. Naturally, I took out my camera.
I hope you guys are having a good weekend! I'm toting my computer along to NYC, so be sure to check back for photo's from the Big Apple!
