A new vignette has poped up in the corner of our living room!
We had given up a large, over-stuffed chair just before Christmas, and I had plans of getting a big bookshelf to put in it's place after the Christmas tree came down. One trip to the antique markets changed that though...
It all started with these two trunks. Beautiful, old, worn trunks that I spotted in the back of a booth on Sunday. The dealer had four stacks of trunks. Each stack was piled 5 trunks high. I immediately fell in love. What's better- the price I paid; $90 for both! I especially love the top trunk. It's made of wood that has been covered in impressed metal sheets of berries and was the only one of it's kind in the booth.
This lovely new dress form is on loan from my mom and goes perfectly next to the dark shade of the trunks.
I decided to hang my collection of french mourning plaques on the wall behind the chests. I had been waiting to find the perfect location for these that really showcases their beauty, and this was the perfect spot. As I acquire more I plan to start hanging them on the side wall.
P.S.- I can't wait until we own our own house and can have plank wood floors :)
