Glittered Arrows

It's time to deck the halls with boughs of holly! Fa la la la la, la la la la!

I'm (very) excited to share my first Holiday video with you for the 2015 Christmas season.

What's really great about this tutorial is it isn't specifically "Holiday". These Glittered arrows would be great anytime of year in many different ways.  I think they would be great as a banner or garland, they would look fantastic framed, or you can use them as I am in this video: as ornaments and gift tags.

Whatever you choose to do with your arrows, I hope you have a great time making them, and don't forget to show me what you do with them! Hashtag your pics with #MakeherCreativeLiving (my brand name), or @LizMathews83.

As promised, here is a download-able sheet with lots of arrow points and tails ready to be cut and assembled :)

Fall Glitter Tree DIY

I've posted what will be the last of my Fall themed videos for the season! The tutorial for Fall Glitter Trees is up on my YouTube channel now.

This was by far my favorite project of the season and I have been enjoying the finished project for days. In fact, I love it so much I may recreate it for other rooms! It's quite a statement and I love the delicacy of the leaves and the sparkle of the glitter.

If you're interested in recreating my version of this tree you may want to stop by my etsy store where you can buy a package of the maple and oak leaves I've used in this project.  Moving forward I'll be offering components for the projects whenever I can in my store and hope it helps sourcing items a little less daunting.

Happy Crafting!

Epic Vintage Giveaway

I'm hosting an EPIC VINTAGE GIVEAWAY for the entire MONTH OF NOVEMBER! That's right- 30 awesome vintage pieces are included in this treasure trove that will be mailed to one of my followers on December 1st.

Each day I'll post a few photos of the item added to the haul on one of my social media pages (fb, ig, here on my blog) and you can enter ONE time each day by answering the question I pose in the product description.

Then, at the end of the month I'll throw an extra 10 chances in the pot for anyone who is following my You Tube Channel :).

A name will be selected on December 1st and I'll ship any domestic winner their treasure box at my expense.

I hope you're as excited as I am! I love giveaways and hosting them is just as fun!  Do you remember when I did this in 2011? Check out what that haul ended up looking like:

Good luck to everyone! And PS- the first item is already posted- check my IG (and hit "follow" while you're there) to make it easy to find each day. LizMathews83, or link on the sidebar :)

Moss Covered Pumpkins

On this Halloween Eve I wanted to share another fall themed project I posted to my YouTube channel last week: Moss Covered Pumpkins.

I've absolutely loved having these nature-y beauties around the house this autumn, and as someone who doesn't usually go for traditional "halloween" decor this project filled in a gap between summer and winter themed decor.

Again, this project is suitable for beginning crafter and uses minimal supplies. Most likely you'll have to make a trip to Michaels for the moss, and be sure to use a coupon :)

Happy Halloween and happy making!

3 DIY Fall Decor Projects

I'm baaaaack!! And I have not one, not two, but three (nearly) free Fall home decor projects for you! Click here for the direct link to my latest video.

I am thrilled to share these projects with you and happy to report that as long as you've got basic craft supplies on hand- glue gun, string, paper, tape, and access to fall foliage- these projects won't cost you a thing!

Not only are they free- but they pack a huge punch and will be great to keep up from the beginning of the autumn season right through to winter!

All of the projects included in this video are suitable for beginning crafters and everyone should feel confident tackling any one of them. I know you can do it!

And when you do, please come back and share your success stories and photos with me. I'd love to see them and hear about your crafting adventure :)

Here are some shots of the projects covered in the video:

These pressed leaf pages are my favorite project included in this video! I love how they look hung in a grid above my mantle and the pop of color adds lots of interest to the room. You'll be shocked at how easy they are to make.

Continuing to bring nature into our house, I've also created this charming acorn garland.  Again, this is an easy DIY project and I find the tiny details of the acorns to be so sweet!
Happy crafting!

Happy 4th of July!

Wishing everyone a wonderful, safe, fun-filled 4th of July!

I posted a video earlier this week showing how to make these adorable sparkler packs with metallic fringe. They are so quick and easy to make- it's not too late to get them done by nightfall!

Honey Orange Honeycomb Soaps

I'm so excited to announce my first collaboration with the blog LittleGirlBigEats!

Annie (who writes Little Girl Big Eats) and I are teaming up to bring you content on both of our sites with a common theme. This month, we focused on Honey!

On Little Girl Big Eats you will find several honey themed concoctions, for both the body and tastebuds! I know you'll love them, so be sure to pop over and see what Annie has whipped up!

On my YouTube channel I am guiding you through making your own Honey Orange scented honeycomb soap

This project is so easy to complete and would be a great DIY gift. Not only do the soaps smell good, they work well and look adorable! It's a win-win-win.

For the second video in the honey collaboration I am guiding you through two ways to package your honeycomb soap for storage or gift giving. Again, these techniques are quick and easy.

I hope you love them and enjoy making your own soap. If you do, please let me know how they turn out.

Until next time!
