At this point, im working of off the hundreds of lists I have made for myself. "Do this first...", "photograph this...", "dont forget...". You get the picture. Happily, one of the things on my list to pick up tonight includes.....
Looking forward to hearing it in the background as im working away tonight!

Tuesday already!
Here is another new piece ive been working on... Fingers are crossed to have it complete by Sunday!
Be sure to look at my last post if you want a glimpse into my studio :)
Hello Monday!
And the countdown is on.... only 5 days left until Crafty Bastards. HOLY MOLY! Within these next 5 days (in addition to completing as much work as i can) I also have a wedding, and overnight trip to my aunts planed, and a full week of work. I foresee lots of Starbucks trips!
I decided to do a holiday line this year! And the holidays are right around the corner, so I got started over the weekend. Here is the first piece in the beginning stages. So far, im loving it!
Yesterday I met up with Annie for a little show shopping and coffee. Did I mention that she was voted Best Local Jewelry Designer by the city paper???!!!!?? Im long overdue in saying congratulation!
The concert and fair were lots of fun! Dierks Bentley put on a wonderful show, I got to eat Delicious fair food, and see lots of cute (and stinky) animals. Thursday, September 18, 2008
Before and After
So here is what my tray looks like after a very productive night. Not nearly enough for the show, but a good dent! And, its mostly all new stuff! Which is fun to make, and good for catalog completion.
Here is a little preview:
Today im working on sketches for my holiday line, and tonight its back to the bench. Yay!
Happy Friday guys, enjoy your last weekend of summer. Wow, how did that happen. Besides all the work im going to be doing this weekend, were also headed to the Great Frederick Fair to see Dirks Bentley. Should be a good, crisp, country night!
Ok, Im starting to get a little stessed. Luckly, I am one of those people who works well under pressure. My mom and casey may not agree, as they are the people who get the "freak out" phone calls. But none the less, its crunch time and I will get it done!
Crafty Bastards is 10 days away, and I have TONS more work to do. Im trying to coordinate all the new work I will have for the show with my catalog update. Which means A LOT of planing before the making. Its all under control though, thanks to many MANY post-it notes :)
I will have 6 new images being put into production here. They look great! Here is a little peek at what you can expect. Along with new images, I will have new bezel shapes and combos as well.
And I JUST got the email from the American Craft Council that i was not accepted for the retail section, but am on the wait list for the wholesale section. Im really excited, but dont want to get my hopes up too high. Its a wait list, i could be number 3024803 in line. I will find out my actual rank next week.
So, anyone with show experience, particularly ACC- what do you think. Do people actually decline their real invitation? I HOPE THEY DO!!

Heaven!!!!!!!
Somehow I lucked into getting both yesterday and today off work. So that mean i got two extra full studio days. It was heaven!! I couldn't have hoped for more productive days, and it was so much fun. I still have a ton to do before crafty bastards, but im getting there.
Here are the new pieces that I just sent to the casters to have ready for C.B. I have some great idea for the tear drops, and the oval and circle are BIG. I threw my hand in there just to show the scale.
And here is another idea I have been playing around with. I made one, and Im not really sure I like it. I think its a bit large. Im going to have to wear it for a day before I decide if i want to pursue the idea. What do you think?

Confession!
Let me just start out by saying...no, im not engaged, or married.
But this is what I went out this morning to buy! I LOVE LOVE LOVE weddings, the planing of weddings, the event itself, the magazines...all of it. I will also admit that I have been considering a new "real job" with an event planning company. Anyway, I will spend hours (literally) looking over these books and mags, tearing out ideas and saving them for a rainy day. I'll share some with you sometime, like i did in this post a while ago.
Ok, off to watch a girly movie and read my new mags :) Thing its back to the studio to make more work for Crafty Bastards!

Happy Weekend!
After a few 11 hour days this week, im hard at work in the studio all weekend. But you wont hear me complaining. As I work the day away im daydreaming of when I can do this all week long, and not have a "real job".
One of today's projects included making my mailing list, and getting postcards ready to go out. These are the cards I got for free from vista last week. Perfect timing for advertising Crafty Bastards!
Check this guy out, isnt he fabulous!!
Hope you guys are having a great weekend :)

Weekend Wrap-up
It has been an interesting weekend here in Baltimore. We spent most of Saturday dealing with the tropical storm that made its way up the entire eastern sea board. Mainly just rain and wind, nothing serious, and no damage. Just your typical rainy day. By Saturday night the storm had blown through and we made it out to dinner with friends. Just before dinner this is what i saw in the parking lot:
No one was quite as excited as I was, but thats ok. There is just something refreshing and fun about a rainbow :)
I spent some time today experimenting with different techniques and methods of applying images to the lucite. After much frustration the light bulb finally went off and I figured things out. What a good feeling. Im all ready to set some new pieces, and that will hopefully be done sooner rather than later.
And for the first time in a while I made something for myself! Ive been meaning to do this for about a year (literally!!) and Im glad I finally did.
Have a good day back to work tomorrow!
